Well, as I said, I needed to catch up on the past week because so much had happened that I need to record about.
On Sunday March 22, our family was asked to speak in Sacrament meeting.
Carson chose to speak about Baptism. I was so pleased with how we worked together to get his talk done. He told me what he wanted to say and we wrote it down. He also spoke very well. Here is the talk:
"Today I chose to talk about Baptism. I will be getting Baptized soon. Baptism is important because you become a member of the true church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Baptism is also an important covenant (or promise) that I make with the Lord. I know I am now held accountable for my own sins. I know that I must also now repent for any sin. Taking the sacrament will help me to renew my covenant with Heavenly Father.
When my Mom asked me how I feel about Baptism, I told her I was excited but a little worried because the water might be cold.
After I get Baptized, I will then be confirmed to get the Holy Ghost. They Holy Ghost will whisper to me to choose the right.
I am so happy that I will be eight years old on Thursday. My Mom and Dad say they are happy too but sad too because I'm not their baby anymore.
Being Baptized will help me become a good missionary too. I want everyone to be baptized so they can also receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. I want to have everyone love the Gospel. Sometimes at school I talk to my friends who do not go to church. I tell them how important my baptism is and how important church is in my life.
I hope we can all be glad about baptism. I know it is a very important step in my life.. . . .(And then Carson bore an absolutely beautiful testimony. )
Whitney chose to talk about Temples because she was so excited about the Draper Temple dedication. It reminded her of when she got to see the open house for the Rexburg Temple. She also verbalized to me what she wanted to say for her talk: When she got up to speak, she completely forgot what to say. She had pictures too (to help her what to say)
1. Today, I chose to speak about Temples because I love temples.
2. Temples are very special to me.
3. Temples are where we baptize for the dead
4. Temples are where people go to be closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus.
5. My favorite thing about temples is that they are beautiful. I got to go to the Rexburg temple.
6. My mom and dad were married in the Salt Lake Temple. I hope to me married in the temple someday.
Then Whitney bore her testimony. She did very well.
I was asked to speak about tithing and DH was asked to speak about the twelfth article of faith.
We thought about singing "I love to see the Temple" as a family. The kids wanted very much to sing. However, there was already a musical number lined up. It was a great song. We really had a good time planning and doing our talks. My little ones love to get up and speak and pray. I just love that about them. They are great kids and are very special children of our Heavenly Father. We love you!!!
