Happy 8th Birthday "C" / Grandparents day

C's 2nd grade teacher. We just love her!
On March 26, "C" turned the "Big 8". We were so excited for this day because not only was it going to be his big day but it was also Grandparents day. That meant Grandma and Grandpa were going to come!

Well, "C" got up around 5:30 so excited for his special day. He got ready for school, I talked to him about the day he was born, he packed his birthday treats, dressed in his nice clothes and got on the bus around 7:15. I cried after he left. MY BABY IS NOT A BABY ANYMORE!!! Did I do enough to prepare him for this new stage of life where he will be accountable for his own actions soon??

Anyways, the plan was to have Grandma and Grandpa come and meet "C" at his school at 11:00. First they were to eat lunch, then go to the book fair around 12:30, then go to get pictures taken. At 1:00 they were having a school program for all the grandparents. Then they were to go and see their dinosaur reports and diorama's in their classroom. They could bring him home at the end of the day. Sounds fun right?

Well, as luck will have it, a huge winter storm hit all of the Wasatch front. That meant Grandma and Grandpa did not want to chance the commute. To make matters worse, my girls were still sick from the flu (from previous post). But you know what??? This is terrible but I went ahead and got myself and the girls ready to go and support C anyway. There is no way I was going to let his day become ruined!!! He'd been looking forward to this day for weeks. So we went and had a great time!

We were too far away to really get a good shot! But it was cute to watch him. He's so animated and fun to watch.
