Just a Really Fun Blog!

Just having too much fun!
Well, I have so much to catch up on from our past weeks. So much to celebrate and so much to look forward to. The kids' last day of school was May 23rd. Wrestling, Basketball and Dance are over but now we have baseball, swimming, tumbling, scouts and piano. It will be busy but fun.

We plan to attend family reunions, go on a few vacations (if Blair isn't swamped...well, we already know he's swamped) I started my garden, planted all my flowers, and I even planned to re-decorate my home. Mostly the kids' bedrooms and my front room. We just bought a new piano and "C" is so excited to get started on playing. We are doing the summer reading program at our school library for all the kids. I love how they really cater to the kids. So much to do... so much fun!

About my garden, I planted green beans, onions, lettuce, carrots, spaghetti squash, corn, tomatoes and broccoli. We just LOVE a fresh garden. My kids are crazy about fresh veggies. We also love to can peaches, tomatoes, green beans and most of all strawberry jam (which I am doing tomorrow!). We mostly freeze grated zucchini, and carrots and broccoli. The funny thing about my gardens are that every year I have planted one, I am either pregnant, with a new little baby or I my health has suffered a little. This year I do not have any of that in my field so I pray it will be a little easier for me this time. It's fun to have my little ones help me with the garden.

I posted a movie I made of "C" when he was baptized and I sent copies with invites (previous post) to all our extended family. We are so blessed with this little guy. So if you'd like to watch, I hope you enjoy. It's kind of fun to see what kids are like from infancy to present

Potty Training Herself???????

Yep. One morning (about three weeks ago) "A" came to me and said, "Mommy I pay pay peese?" I looked at her and said, "Sissy? Are you ready?" She nodded a big yes. I sat her on her little Elmo seat and sure enough! She Went!!! And she's been going on her own ever since!!!!! She even has a little stool she climbs up on by herself to get on the seat. I don't think she even needs a sticker chart. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN????? It is well known this child is the most strong headed child and VERY independant. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing but for now , IT'S TOTALLY AWESOME!!!! Here are the pictures I took that day. I even had some princess pull-ups on hand as I was just "thinking" about starting her. Who would have known? (Don't you just love the hand-me-down sports jammies?)

Girl Days

During the school year, Whitters was always asking me to have a girl day with her. So many times we had our special "girl day" it consisted of dressing up (me too), painting fingernails, doing hair (mine was done by the girls! ) making cakes, brownies, pies and gifts for the boys. We always had the time of our lives. I hope we always have a good relationship throughout our lives. They are the most important girls in my life. May the Lord bless them with knowing a real mother's love!

Who we miss the most...

On memorial weekend, we visited a very special grave site. This is George and Norma Palmer. They are the kids' grandparents. Carson remembers them very well. Whitney was just a baby when they both passed away. Aubree will never really get to know them in this life. We feel they do watch over our kids every now and then. George and Norma were the greatest people that walked the earth. They were so loving and kind. George always made me laugh. He reminded me a lot of Victor Borgh (the comedian and musician) (SP?) sometimes when he couldn't get off the couch he'd say, "Get thee behind me Satan..... and push". He was hilarious! He died in '04. Norma died nine months after that. Norma was such a wonderful mother in law. She always made me feel important. I could talk to her about anything. I loved her strong spirit but most of all, I knew that what ever I told her would never pass the room. I miss and love her very much. I love them so much because they raised the most wonderful son and father to my children. They are the reason my husband is so loving and kind to others. I only wish my little ones would have these great people around them always.

Three things:
1. Can I eat some of those yummy veggies that you are planting?
2. That's awesome that Aubs is potty training, she is so funny.
3. Why don't you ever invite me to the girl parties? Next time?
Love ya and see you next weekend for sure!!

What cute kids you have! If you make it down this way this summer, let me know. I would love to get together and see you again! It's been way too long!

You are such a great mom and person. You always inspire me.

We love... garden food too. Thank heavens Janis plants such a big one.

I agree Carter is precious. He just has a sweet little spirit about him. The video had me bawling. I cannot imagine living one day without the power of the gospel.

Sure love reading your blogs.
